Sydney Barta

Sydney Barta is an American Paralympic sprinter and member of the US Paralympic Track & Field National Team, specialising in the 100m and 200m T64 events. A Tokyo 2020 Paralympian, Sydney is a multiple international medallist, Parapan American champion and American record holder. One of the leading athletes in her classification, Sydney has established herself on the international stage as a World Para Athletics medallist and a prominent figure in Paralympic sport. Beyond athletics, Sydney is equally accomplished academically. A Stanford University bioengineering graduate and Rhodes Scholar, she has a strong interest in biomechanics, human performance and improving opportunities for athletes with disabilities. She hopes to pursue a career in orthopaedic surgery, combining her experience in elite sport with her passion for science and helping others.
